Virtusize was honored to be selected as one of 8 top innovators at The 2021 ECR Innovation Challenge. The ECR Innovation Challenge is a platform that aims to accelerate loss reduction efforts on e-commerce sites and is organized annually by ECR and Co-Cubed.
A group of "Top 8 Innovators" are selected each year among over 200 start-ups in the ECR E-commerce Loss Challenge.
Virtusize was awarded the title as it "reduces the return rate and contributes to solving issues of waste in the fashion industry".
As a result, Virtusize was invited to present our services to more than 40 global leading retailers, including Nike, Adidas, H&M, ASOS, and others.
In recent years, water pollution, mass production, mass consumption, and the use of animal products have become hot issues in the fashion industry. While fashion is the largest category of online shopping globally, returns are also growing fast, with the value of total returns globally now exceeding $50 billion per year. The online return rate for retailers is typically 2.5 times that of brick-and-mortar stores.
The disproportionally high return rates of online stores means that there is a huge gap in both the quality of service and consumer behavior when buying online.
Virtusize offers an online fitting service that solves sizing concerns, and has been contributing to the reduction of return rates. Utilizing the largest fashion big data sets in Japan, Virtusize allows users who purchase clothes online to imagine not only the design, but also the fit and comfort online.
Virtusize helps shoppers find fashion that they will truly love which significantly reduces returned items, thereby reducing the energy spent on unnecessary shipping, and items being burned or otherwise disposed of by retailers. Virtusize will continue to utilize fashion big data to help realize a more sustainable society.
